The Miracle League provides children with disabilities, regardless of their ability, the opportunity to play baseball. Each child dresses in an official uniform, makes plays in the field, and rounds the bases just like their peers. This week will continue the tradition of a Christ-centered adventure camp program building confidence and giving children the opportunity to set goals and reach them while growing in their walk with Christ. Campers will enjoy a variety of activities like canoeing, riding down the zip line, crafts, performing skits, and much more! Each activity will help build team work and challenge the camper to reach their goals and have a blast doing it!

Our popular Art Camp at the Modern for ages 5 to 12 and Summer Art Study for ages 13‐15 are back for summer 2008 and this year we have added a special needs Art Camp too! The Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth’s unique programs for young artists emphasize learning through direct observation of art and thoughtful art activities inspired by the current exhibition.

Green Oaks School is having a summer activity camp the week of July 5—9.  In keeping with its  10-year anniversary celebration this year, the week’s theme will be Holiday Happenings! Activities will include fine arts, food activities, faith based activities, hands-on learning and community based outings. The minimum age for summer attendees is eight years old and all participants must be independently toilet trained. The fee for the week is $200.00.

TWEADERS (Teen/Tween Readers) CLUB

The Tweaders Club is for kids with Down syndrome and their siblings; the initial target age range is 10-16, but this is flexible. Your child(ren) can read the book, you can read it to your child(ren), or you can do a little of each. The club will meet every 3-4 weeks and fun will be incorporated, such as meeting at the downtown Ft. Worth library for the book discussion and then riding the trolley to get ice cream. There will also be an online discussion to foster the kids’ computer skills.

Green Oaks School will be having two summer activity camps, the weeks of June 21—25 and July 5—9. In keeping with our school’s 10th birthday this year, our summer theme will be 2010: A Summer of Celebration! Week One, June 21—25, will be Praise Party! Week Two, July 5—9, will be Holiday Happenings! Activities will include fine arts, food activities, faith enrichment, hands-on learning and community based outings.
