New Parents

Congratulations on your new or coming baby!

If your baby is diagnosed with Down syndrome, you probably have many questions and a wide range of concerns. That’s OK!  We’re here to help you find the answers you are seeking and realize the amazing future your baby can have. Every day, advances in baby_DSmedicine, education, therapy and understanding open new doors and opportunities for children with Down syndrome to reach their full potential and lead more independent and productive lives.

The Down Syndrome Partnership of Tarrant County provides new parent packets free of charge to any family in its service area (Fort Worth, Tarrant County and surrounding areas of North and Northwest Texas) whose baby has received a diagnosis of Down syndrome, whether prenatally or at birth. This packet contains general information about Down syndrome and tips on accessing local and national resources. It also includes a copy of the acclaimed book, Babies with Down Syndrome and much more. Upon request, DSPTC will contact any person or family that would like to talk to someone who already has a child with Down syndrome.

For more information, please contact Teresa Koch at 817-924-0360 (H), 817-966-0360 (C), or NewParents@dsptc.org. When requesting a new parent packet, please include your name(s), address, phone number, e-mail address, child’s name and child’s birth date (or anticipated birth date).
